Discover the Stannies Difference

Boarding at Stannies provides life experience and teaches independent learning in a safe and caring environment. Our boarders live within a historic building on beautiful grounds that have been part of the Central West landscape since 1857.

Within walking distance to local shops and entertainment, boarders are part of a safe community. Bathurst is a major transportation hub, with trains and buses running west to Dubbo and beyond and east to the Greater Sydney region.

Your son can expect to be supported by enthusiastic, warm and committed staff, who are dedicated to relationships that honour the gifts, talents, potential and dignity of each student in our boarding community.

Our current students and Old Boys note their most significant learning experiences came from deep and meaningful relationships formed with peers and mentors within the school community – in the boarding house, the classroom and on the field.

We have a sense of responsibility to instil our values of humility, honour, compassion, faith, service and leadership, allowing the boys of St Stanislaus’ College to leave as Stannies Men with the stewardship of the care of people and place.

Students from Year 7 to Year 12 can enjoy full time and weekly boarding. Weekly boarding includes four or five nights, with a flexible option and occasional boarding for students who need an overnight stay to accommodate co-curricular commitments or family circumstances.

Juniors in Years 7 to 9 live in dormitories with single cubicle bed spaces, Seniors have single rooms. There are seminar rooms for collaborative learning, with teacher and boarding staff supervised evening study. Qualified medical support staff are onsite daily, with an in-house doctor’s clinic twice a week.

Each dorm has a central common room with basic kitchen facilities complemented by a four-week rotating menu from the College Catering Team.

Our charism is enriched through our vibrant sacramental, liturgical and prayer life with weekly Mass held in the College Chapel.

Our boarders are the heart of the College and are remarkable students who learn the importance of trust, good communication and respect for others.

Support for boarders includes:

Study Support

The College has partnered with education provider, Studiosity, to expand access to our Boarders for after hours student learning support. Students can submit their draft assignments to a writing expert online, who will provide feedback on the work before students submit it for marking, or if they want more immediate help, students can chat online with one of the Studiosity advisers who will answer questions in real time. Most assignments are returned within 24 hours.
