The health and wellbeing of our community, keeping everyone as up-to-date as possible with NSW Health guidelines and how they affect us, is paramount in these times of uncertainty.

Dear Stannies families
Following the NSW Government’s announcement of the implementation of Stay at Home orders for regional New South Wales, I am writing to keep you informed of our plans to continue to educate and care for your sons for the next seven days. The government’s decision is not unexpected and so our staff have been able to confidently refine and activate our plans this afternoon.
Stannies remains operational for day and boarding students during this time. The Stay at Home orders require that families must keep children – of all ages, across primary school and secondary school – at home unless they need to be at school. Many of our teachers will also be working from home and facilitating learning for their classes via Google Classroom. Year Coordinators will be in contact with students we know do not have suitable internet access at home to arrange hard copy work as needed. We will also have a skeleton teaching staff available on-site to supervise boys who are unable to learn from home. The learning program will be the same whether online or onsite. Please also be aware that all co-curricular activities will be postponed next week.
The inability of students to access the College site will have an obvious impact on assessment programs most notably HSC Trial exams that were scheduled for this coming week. NESA had previously provided us with a great deal of discretion in dealing with assessment matters and our Academic Care Team will meet this week to discern appropriate adjustments. Boys should continue to prepare for their assessments as no revision will be wasted later in the year. Mrs van Gend and Mrs Welsh will provide further advice to Year 12.
Please be aware that NSW Health current advice requires all staff must wear a face mask or covering at all times including when working outdoors in all schools operating under these restrictions. While at school, masks or face coverings are required in all indoor settings for all students in Year 7 and above. We have a supply of masks available if required.
Whilst disruptive, we should be extremely grateful that these latest measures are precautionary for those in Bathurst and surrounds. We know the struggles many of our families face having been impacted directly by the COVID-19 virus or through the isolation of much harsher restrictions over an extended period of time. We pray in solidarity with those who are doing it much tougher than we are at present.
Let us continue to place our trust in our Lord as we work through these difficult times together.
Mr Luck, Head of College

Dear Stannies Families,
This evening NSW Health advised new restrictions will be introduced for the Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council and the Cabonne Shire Council areas from 12.01am Wednesday 21 July until 12.01am Wednesday 28 July.
Further details regarding these restrictions can be found at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/news/Pages/20210720_02.aspx
Stannies will remain open for all boarding and day students who are able to be with us during this time. For students who need to learn at home, your teachers will be sharing work and checking in with you via Google Classrooms from Period 1 tomorrow, 21 July 2021.
We pray that these restrictions will ensure the Covid-19 virus is quickly suppressed in our community.
Mr Luck, Head of College.
